Where You Can Buy Citizenship: Caribbean, Vanuatu, Cambodia & More

If you don't like the country that you live in, there are 11 countries that will let you join for money. To be a citizen of most of the 195 countries in the UN, you have to be born there, marry in, or reside there a long time.

But in these five Caribbean nations, you can simply buy your way in for $1 to $250,000. You aren't even required to physically be there, except for Antigua and Barbuda — they want you to visit one day per year.

If you don't want to be in the Caribbean, you can join Vanuatu in the south, specifically for $130,000. Cambodia recently opened up a program for $240,000, but you'll probably have to pass a literature test.

Your other options are Turkey, Egypt, or Jordan. Technically, you can buy a Macedonian citizenship, but nobody's ever actually been approved. Malta also has a popular citizenship program for investors because it's your only chance to buy your way into the EU, but it requires a few years of residency.

Out of all these options, which one would you buy?
